I've been taking Japanese classes for the past 5 months now and in addition to my homework I've been trying to study more on my own.  I've begun memorizing simple Kanji and and am now trying to memorize parts of the Sunday service.  While I can read the text for the service, I can't read fast enough yet to read out loud with everyone.  My current project is the Lord's Prayer in Japanese.  Hopefully I'll know it by this Sunday!

Here is the Lord's Prayer in Hiragana:
てんにおられるわたしたちのちちよ、
みながせいとされますように。
みくにがきますように。
みこころがてんにおこなわれるとおりちにもおこなわれますように。
わたしたちのひごとのかてをきようもおあたえください。
わたしたちのつみをおゆるしください。　わたしたちもひとをゆるします。
わたしたちをゆうわくにおちいらせず、
あくからおすくいください。

くにとちから　とえいこうは　えいえんにあなたのものです。　アーメン。
